Pilot Travel Centers to deploy heavy-duty EV charging stations for Tesla Semis

30 January 2026 at 16:33

Truck stop operator Pilot Travel Centers has entered into an agreement with Tesla to install charging stations for Tesla’s Semi heavy-duty electric trucks.

The Tesla charging stations will be built at select Pilot locations in California, Georgia, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas, along I-5, I-10 and β€œseveral major corridors where the need for heavy-duty charging is highest.” The first sites are expected to open in Summer 2026.

Each location will host four to eight charging stalls featuring Tesla’s V4 cabinet charging technology, which can deliver up to 1.2 megawatts of power at each stall.

Pilot says that in the future, the sites may be expanded to be compatible with heavy-duty electric vehicles from other manufacturers.

β€œHeavy-duty charging is yet another extension of our exploration into alternative fuel offerings, and we’re happy to partner with a leader in the space that provides turnkey solutions and deploys them quickly,” said Shannon Sturgil, Senior VP, Alternative Fuels at Pilot.

30 January 2026 at 08:13

Well, things might be getting wild. When SolarCity was facing financial challenges, Tesla swallowed it up. Elon Musk was the Chairman of the Board at SolarCity, and his cousins were the cofounders, CEO, and CTO. The synergies were supposed to help both, but Tesla’s solar business has declined a great ... Wall Street’s Failures on Tesla (TSLA) β€” And Has It Simply Flip Flopped?

30 January 2026 at 07:39

In response to my article yesterday about Tesla’s gradually declining net income, a reader pointed me in the direction of an interesting article from Fortune. Before I get to that and some additional thoughts that came out of that, it just hit me that I didn’t take a good look ... [continued]

Tesla’s First Ever Annual Revenue Drop Is Not The Concerning Part

29 January 2026 at 01:41

Tesla has now published its 4th quarter and full-year financial details and various updates on vehicle models, robots, factories, and its energy business. Steve Hanley is going to cover some of the vehicle and robot news, so I’m jumping into the finances. One of the big headline stories is that ... [continued]

Tesla Removed Autopilot. The Data Says Safety Wasn’t Lost

28 January 2026 at 04:59

Tesla’s decision to remove Autopilot and Autosteer as standard features in North America initially struck me as a step backward for safety, a cash grab for the Full Self Driving monthly subscription and as such an attempt to boost TSLA stock price. That reaction was almost automatic. I’ve used and ... [continued]
